Zakiya Kyle
Zakiya Kyle, a warrior for social/ economic justice, has a lifelong commitment and a 20 year track record in the nonprofit sector.
As a daughter of Watts and native Angeleno (note the distinction), Zakiya Kyle has led Black and Brown student movements, campaigns around welfare reform, and economic justice programs that democratized banking for low-income families. A self-proclaimed people person, Zakiya has served as a national service leader, community organizer, and in volunteer management, engaging more than 3000 volunteers in nonprofit service annually. She currently works in the community violence intervention space, coordinating outreach for the Community Based Public Safety Collective.
