Shaun D. Emerson
Shaun D. Emerson is an urban affairs and management specialist who has worked for three decades to promote human development and community well-being.
With an emphasis on equity, resilience and sustainability, Shaun’s work has focused on the development and promotion of systemic solutions and structures to address the social, cultural, economic and political determinants to community well-being and human futures.
Shaun has worked with multiple organizations in the fields of community based public safety, community well-being and human development, including: ShadeTree Multicultural Foundation, where Shaun serves as a Fellow; The Reverence Project; Community Self-Determination Institute; and Amer-I-Can Foundation for Social Change. He has designed, implemented and managed projects and programs throughout the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, with much of his work in the community of Watts.
Shaun started with the Community Based Public Safety Collective as a Project Coordinator and now serves as the Director of Project Management. He brings his experience in and deep understanding of Community Based Public Safety and organizational administration in support of place based development to stop community violence and create community well-being.
Shaun obtained Associate Degrees in Liberal Arts and Correctional Science from Mt. San Antonio College; a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services Management from University of Phoenix; a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Urban Management and Affairs from University of La Verne; and has been inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Society and Pi Alpha Alpha Global Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. He is also a combat veteran of the U.S. Army.
