David Guizar
David Guizar brings a rich history of working with community intervention and public safety initiatives.
David Guizar was born and raised in South Central LA during the '70's - 90's. When David was 10 years old in 1983, his older brother Oscar – and idol – was murdered. No one told him what happened, and David struggled in his teen years with fear and anger about the loss.
He is a member of the Founding Circle of Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice (CSSJ), David now works to raise the voice of survivors as Regional Training Manager for Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice nationally. He is a founding member of the Founding Circle of CSSJ, in this role David works with individual survivors and organizations.
David also brings a rich history of working with community intervention and public safety initiatives dating back to 1994 to his role of Program Manager for the Community Based Public Safety Collective.
