NCST Evaluation
The Community Based Public Safety Collective (CBPSC) is proud to support the release of the Newark Community Street Team (NCST) Evaluation, a comprehensive mixed-methods study conducted by UCLA Social Justice Partners with support from the Ford Foundation.
The evaluation provides compelling evidence that Newark’s community-led public safety model is associated with sustained reductions in violence and offers an in-depth examination of how community-based public safety works in practice. The report also provides a practical blueprint for communities, practitioners, policymakers, and funders seeking to develop effective, community-centered approaches to public safety.
